Privacy Policy

Effective August 26, 2026 · Last updated October 4, 2026

TurboScribe: Audio to Text (“TurboScribe”, “we”, “us”) turns your recordings, imported files, and YouTube links into transcripts, and adds AI-powered summaries, translation, and exports. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. An account is optional: everything works without one, and we never ask for a password.

1.Your account (optional)

You can sign in with Apple to keep your recordings and your subscription with you on a new iPhone or after reinstalling. Sign in with Apple shares a stable identifier for your Apple Account with us and, only if you choose to share them, your name and an email address (which can be an Apple private relay address). We use these only to run your account. The app account is separate from the TurboScribe website: they are not linked and don’t share logins, subscriptions, or recordings. You can sign out, or permanently delete your account and every recording in it, in Settings → Account.

2.Your recordings and transcripts

Audio is captured or imported on your device first. To create a transcript, the audio is uploaded over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our servers, where it is stored so the app can show your library, play recordings back, and keep transcripts available across sessions. Speech-to-text and AI insights (summaries, key points, chapters, and similar) are generated by our transcription provider, AssemblyAI, under their data-protection terms. Translation runs entirely on your device — transcripts are never sent anywhere to be translated.

3.AI features

When you use AI features such as Summary, Ask AI, or Custom Prompts, the transcript text of that recording is processed by our AI provider to generate the result, which is returned to you and stored with the recording. AI output can contain mistakes — please review it before relying on it.

4.Purchases

Payments for TurboScribe Pro are processed by Apple through your Apple Account — we never see your payment details. To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your App Store purchase receipt and an identifier: a random, anonymous one, or your TurboScribe account’s identifier if you’re signed in, so your subscription follows your account. RevenueCat never receives your name or email.

5.Usage analytics

To understand which features are used and to fix problems, the app sends anonymous usage events (for example “recording started” or “export completed”) together with basic device information such as device model, iOS version, and app version. Analytics never include the content of your recordings, transcripts, questions, prompts, or file names. We do not show ads and we do not sell personal data. Analytics are provided by PostHog and Google Firebase.

Where the app measures the performance of marketing, it first asks your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, no advertising identifier is used; you can change this choice any time in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6.Contacting support

If you use the in-app Contact Support form, the name, email address, and message you enter are sent to our support inbox and used only to answer you.

7.Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app notifies you when a transcript finishes processing, and we may occasionally send news about features or tips. To deliver them, your device’s push token (an identifier issued by Apple), your app version, language setting, and whether you’re a subscriber or signed in are stored on our servers and sent to Apple’s push notification service. You can turn notifications off any time in iPhone Settings, or in the app under Settings → Notifications.

8.Deleting your data

Deleting a recording in the app deletes its audio, transcript, and AI insights from this device and from our servers. “Delete All Recordings” and “Erase Everything” in Settings do the same for everything at once. If you signed in, Settings → Account → Delete Account permanently deletes your account, every recording in it, and its notification registrations, and revokes the app’s access to your Apple Account. If you never signed in, uninstalling the app permanently disconnects any remaining server data from you, and it is removed in routine cleanup.

9.Your rights

You control your data directly in the app — you can play, export, and delete any recording and its transcript at any time. If you would like help exercising a data request, email us at contact@heytech.work and we will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

10.Children

TurboScribe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

11.Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date. Questions or data requests: contact us any time from Settings → Contact Support in the app, or email contact@heytech.work.
